Covilhã and its history

If you have some time for a cultural visit to the city, you can visit some of our congress partners, such as the Museum dos Lanifícios  at a reduced price of €3 with the presentation of your congress badge, or even to the New Hand Lab, a space for promoting and disseminating the most creative endogenous resources, and contributions to Covilhã and Beira Interior in the country and the world.

We would like to introduce you to a platform called “Rota Portas do Sol: Descoberta do Centro Histórico” (Sun Gates Route: Discovering the Historic Center). This itinerary allows you to explore Covilhã interactively. The proposal includes a route of 35 points of interest in the historic center of Covilhã, between Largo do Calvário and Praça do Município. The suggested route begins at Praça do Município, near the Tourist Office, where you will find a digital panel – accessible at any time – that will provide guidance on the contents available through the application and how to use it correctly. The application, called Covilhã AR, is available on the Play Store for Android and the App Store for iPhone.

For those who want to visit Serra da Estrela, there is the Serra Shuttle that takes you to Torre.
